A Great Afternoon at Old Mill Tavern in Homosassa

Tucked away on West Yulee Drive, Old Mill Tavern is the kind of local gem that captures everything great about Florida’s small-town dining scene—laid-back charm, cold drinks, and hearty comfort food that hits the spot every time.

We stopped in for a mid-afternoon meal and were greeted with friendly service from Caresha C, who made the visit easygoing and enjoyable from start to finish.

To kick things off, we ordered the Ultra Bucket—a perfect choice for anyone looking to share a round (or enjoy a few cold ones while soaking up the relaxed vibe). The drinks stayed cold, and the atmosphere was lively but never rushed.

On the food side, everything came out fresh and flavorful. The wings were crisp and well-seasoned, just the way you want them. The fries were golden and perfectly salted, an ideal match for the wings. The chicken tenders—a small order that felt anything but small—were juicy inside with a satisfying crunch on the outside. Pair all that with a Diet Coke for balance, and you’ve got yourself a simple but satisfying spread.

To top things off, we tried a couple of Lemon Drop shots, which were the perfect sweet-and-tart finish to a laid-back afternoon.

At around $64 total, it felt like a solid value for the quality, portions, and atmosphere. Old Mill Tavern is one of those local places that gets it right—unpretentious, delicious, and dependable. Whether you’re stopping by for a casual bite, drinks with friends, or just to unwind, it’s a great place to enjoy good food and good company in true Homosassa style.
