We stopped by The Florida Porch Cafe in downtown Leesburg for lunch, and between the delicious pumpkin bread, a cozy dining room, and an unexpected lesson about cheese, we had plenty to talk about afterward. Here’s how our visit went.

What We Ordered
We ordered the California Waldorf Chicken Salad and the California Turkey Wrap, while my friend chose the Curry Chicken Salad Croissant. Both the Waldorf salad and turkey wrap include Gorgonzola. Fun fact: Gorgonzola is actually a type of blue cheese! I had no idea, and it’s not my favorite, so that was an unexpected surprise.

Aside from the Gorgonzola surprise, we really enjoyed the food. Our meals came with fruit salad and a slice of pumpkin bread, and the pumpkin bread was easily one of the highlights of lunch! We also shared peanut butter cookies at the table. And for fellow Coke fans, they serve Coca-Cola products.

A Relaxed Lunch Spot
The dining room has exposed wooden beams, homey furnishings, and seasonal decorations. Service was a little slow, but the pace fits the name Florida Porch. I wouldn’t go expecting a fast lunch. It’s a place to settle in and take your time.

Would I Go Back?
Would I return? The food—especially that pumpkin bread—gave me a good reason to consider it. Just know that service was a little slow during our visit, so I would plan on a leisurely lunch rather than a quick stop. And if blue cheese isn’t your thing, check the ingredients before ordering; the Gorgonzola definitely caught me off guard!
