Wave Asian Bistro Mount Dora Review: Bao, Hibachi & Bento

Our Wave Asian Bistro Mount Dora review covers spicy butter krab bao buns, orange chicken hibachi, a teriyaki bento box, service, and value.

Wave Asian Bistro bento box and spicy butter krab bao buns

Wave Asian Bistro in Mount Dora worked well for us when we wanted variety in one meal. Sushi-style bites, hibachi, bao buns, and a bento box all fit comfortably on the same table.

Quick Take

The spicy butter krab bao buns were the standout for us. The orange chicken hibachi bowl and teriyaki chicken bento box made this a flexible lunch stop with good variety and generous portions.

Spicy Butter Krab Bao Buns

The bao buns were our favorite item: soft buns, a rich filling, and enough spice to keep them interesting without overwhelming the rest of the flavors.

Orange Chicken Hibachi Bowl

The large orange chicken hibachi bowl came with a generous portion and hot fried rice. The glaze leaned sweet without becoming overly heavy.

Bento Box

The teriyaki chicken bento box gave us rice, a California roll, salad, and a dumpling, making it one of the better choices if you want several different flavors in one order.

Bottom Line

Wave is a useful Mount Dora option when a group wants different things. Service was quick and polite, portions were satisfying, and the mix of sushi, hibachi, and small bites gave everyone options.
